Within the Comédie-Française, during the 2019–2020 season, the academy members discover the inner workings of the institution. In both electric and warm atmosphere, marked by the anger of the Yellow Vests movement, they rehearse the play Galileo, directed by Éric Ruf, in which the fear of miasmas seems to belong to another era. A premonitory unease that spills over into reality, since the theatre season, as well as this photographic reportage, would be interrupted a few months later by the Covid epidemic.
Below are excerpts of academy members Salomé Benchimol, Aksel Carrez, Flora Chéreau, Claire Fayel, Aurélien Hamard-Padis, Mickaël Pelissier, Camille Seitz and Nicolas Verdier, along with the Troupe and its technicians, during rehearsals, performances, and workshops.
